London Design Festival 2023
We hit the pavement over five days in search of British icons and beyond, and weren’t disappointed.
From evocative light installations staged in old world architectural icons, to new world sculptures in restaurant bathrooms, we saw way too many terrace mansions and fashionable Chelsea showrooms for these little feet to handle, and our list of inspiring stimuli once again breached non-exhaustive.
The highlight of the week was sitting down with London-based architecture and design journalist, Amy Frearson and Liaigre Studio’s Principal and Head of Yacht Design, Guillaume Rolland to chat designing beyond trends for “emotion” in the context of their exquisite yacht fitouts. A multinational design firm with French roots, Liaigre have worked for the likes of Rupert Murdoch.
Then on to the streets of Brompton and a stroll down Pimlico Road, before finishing this sourcing trip with a visit to the London Design Fair.
What we’re coveting:
While the Brits are renowned for contemporary Classic style heralding their impressive offering of intricate textiles, we were drawn to the new wave of minimalism that’s reaching their shores, from homegrown talent to European newcomers, and established design houses:
